Indulge yourself on this exclusive, upscale tour of the Big Island's natural splendor. Climb aboard your luxury transportation with your guide and head off to an 80ft waterfall known as Rainbow Falls.
Next we go down onto the older back roads of Hawaii that wind along old mango groves and trees of the Nanawale Rainforest. We then go into Lava Tree state park where lava had burst out of fissures onto Ohia trees leaving lava molds. Visit Ahalanuiās warm springs, with its volcanically heated water.
Along the way and during brief stops, view the dramatic and beautiful scenery formed when lava meets the sea: cliffs, lava tubes and blow holes. At Kaimu, once the site of a famous black-sand beach and a small town, both destroyed by a 1990 lava flow, a stop is made where you can walk on the old lava flows and view the active volcanic vent in the distance. View a picture exhibit of the area you just walked on and see how it looked prior to the 1990 lava flow and the rainforest that is now taking it back over.
This tour ends with a drive through a macadamia nut orchard and visit the farm for tasting the multiple combinations of flavored mac nuts.
Note: Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and be able to walk short distances unaided.
